Straightening
You wear each aligner in the series usually for 1 week before progressing to the next set, moving your teeth little by little until your dream smile is achieved. The amount of movement is controlled by each aligner, based on your bespoke treatment plan.
We keep a close eye on your progress using a virtual monitoring system and at your clinic appointments, on average every 8 weeks, ensuring your treatment is going smoothly.

Complete!
Once your treatment is complete, and every aligner worn, you can get ready to enjoy your new smile! We make sure you are happy with your results and give you a retainer to keep your teeth straight for the long term.

You may find it takes a few days to get used to the aligners, and may have a slight lisp at first, but you should be talking clearly and confidently before long.
Treatment length varies from case to case, but most Invisalign® treatments are completed in 9-18 months. Straightforward cases have a faster treatment time, whilst patients needing more complex straightening can expect to wear their aligners for longer. We can advise you of your expected treatment time after your initial consultation.
Teeth have a habit of moving out of place, and returning to their original positions. You will need to wear a retainer following your treatment to ensure your teeth stay straight for the long term. We advise you to wear your retainer on a part time basis (usually overnight) for as long as you wish your teeth to stay straight.
If you lose one of your aligners, please contact us as soon as possible for further advice. In the meantime, you can wear an aligner from your previous set to prevent your teeth from moving too far out of line. We may also advise that you move straight onto your next set of aligners, depending on your individual case.
