• How do I look after my veneers?

  The best way to look after your new veneers is to treat them just as you would treat your natural teeth. You should brush and floss twice a day to ensure the tooth underneath the veneer remains healthy and strong. It is also important to visit your dentist for regular check ups.

• Are veneers permanent?

  Veneers have the potential to last for many years before needing to be replaced. Due to the way they are fitted, with some natural tooth enamel removed, porcelain veneers are irreversible so a new restoration needs to be placed when the previous one is removed.

• Can my veneers break?

  Veneers are resilient and durable, but do need to be treated with care to avoid any breakage. Try to avoid biting into very hard foods, chew items such as pen tops or use your teeth to open anything as this could damage your veneer. If one or more of your veneers do break, don’t panic! Contact us as soon as possible for help and advice.

• What are veneers made from?

  Veneers can be made from porcelain, ceramic or composite material, all of which provide exceptional aesthetics and can be colour matched to blend into your smile or create your desired shade.

• Are there any alternatives to veneers?

  If you are looking to cover damage or discolouration, treatments such as crowns, bridges and composite bonding can be seen as alternatives. Crowns and bridges are unlikely to provide the same ‘celebrity smile’ transformation as veneers, however.
