The next best thing to natural teeth

Dental implants are an incredibly secure, effective and aesthetic way to replace missing teeth. Modern advances in dentistry mean the titanium implant perfectly mimics a natural tooth root, providing a solid and stable foundation for a crown or denture to be fitted on top.

Why choose implants?

Dental implants are widely considered to be the most successful method of tooth replacement used today, whether you need to replace a single tooth or multiple missing teeth. They allow you to regain the look, feel and function of natural teeth, and eliminate the worry that your restoration will slip or fail.

Implants are a very long lasting and proven solution. They not only transform your smile, but can significantly improve your confidence and quality of life. Titanium is used as it is very well tolerated by the body and fuses to the surrounding jawbone for the optimum durability and stability. This provides crucial support to your facial structure as well as enhancing your appearance and ability to eat and speak.

What does implant treatment involve?

  1. Consultation

We begin all our implant treatments with a thorough consultation appointment, where we fully examine your teeth and ensure you are suitable for treatment. We create your bespoke treatment plan and give you the chance to ask any questions.

  2. Planning

Using advanced digital x-rays, scans and images, we carefully plan the best and most accurate positions for your implant. If you need any preparatory treatment, such as a bone graft, this is carried out before your implant is fitted.

  3. Placement

We place the titanium implant into your jaw, using local anaesthetic to manage any discomfort. Over the next 3-6 months, your implant will heal and fuse to the surrounding bone in your jaw to become a strong support. We fit a temporary restoration to protect your gum during this time.

  4. Smile!

When your implant has fully healed and bonded with your bone, we complete your treatment by fitting your final crown on top. We love watching our patients leave delighted with their treatment results and already showing off their new smiles!

Frequently asked questions:

  • The whole process, from missing teeth to secure fixed replacements, can take several months. The implant surgery is a relatively quick procedure, but the implants themselves need around 3-6 months to heal and fuse before fixed permanent teeth can be placed. The treatment process will be longer if you need a bone graft or other procedure first, but your new smile will be more than worth it in the end.

  • Dental implants have the potential to last a lifetime if they are properly looked after. This includes maintaining an excellent brushing and flossing routine, looking after your general health and attending regular check up appointments with your dentist. The crown on top of your implant may need to be replaced due to natural wear and tear, but your titanium implant is for life.

  • No-one will be able to tell you have an implant fitted, as they are incredibly aesthetic and perfectly pass for natural teeth. Even the crown we fit on top of your implant is matched in shape and colour with your existing teeth to give a beautiful finish.

  • If you have one or more missing teeth, you may also consider restoring your full smile with a bridge or denture. These alternatives are less expensive than an implant, but don’t have the same superior stability, aesthetics and versatility. They are also not likely to last as long. We are happy to discuss all the options for replacing your missing teeth and find the best one for you.

  • Implant costs can vary depending on individual needs, but at our practice, our implant procedures typically start from £3545 per tooth. However, we understand the importance of making informed decisions about your dental health, which is why we offer free implant consultations.
